Royal & Sun Alliance (R&SA) Claims adjusters currently use a green screen administration system to manage the lifecycle of an insurance claim. This current Claims application has a steep learning curve and takes a substantial amount of time to become fully competent within the system. The business needed an application that was easily extensible, decreased training time and was more intuitive to use for an adjuster. Intelliware was engaged to design and build a web front end for this mainframe application using corporate common look and feel standards.
The business case would be maximized by delivering incremental functionality to the field as quickly as possible. Therefore, the business wanted to release this uniquely tailored Claims web-based system in gradual, yet concise phases. Intelliware’s i-Proving methodology used its short development and release iterations to meet that mandate. i-Proving tightly couples the building of the system with the priorities of the business giving the Claims organization more control over which features are developed for any given release. The initial release of this system has moved into production and has received outstanding feedback from the end users.
“I think of Intelliware as the “can do” resource who can bring ideas to life. What I like most about working with them is their design philosophy and methodology.
They can provide realistic working breadboard models before serious programming is started. Work is chunked out into “bite size” pieces. Ideas are kicked around. That way, requirements are not gathered in isolation or a vacuum.
When people can see what is “possible”, have meaningful input, and can make adjustments as they go, then success is assured and simple.
Thanks to their assistance, our award winning claim operation system is loved by our users and has paid for itself many times over.”
