Solutions360 is a technology services company with a 20 year history of providing Business Process Management (BPM) for the mid-market. Solutions360 sells Q360, a business software suite with Sales Force Automation, Quoting, Inventory Control, Order Fulfillment, Routing, Scheduling, Service and Support, Accounting, Billing and Tracking modules.
The Q360 Service and Dispatch module is a server application for managing and dispatching service technicians. It provides detailed information about the assigned technician and the current status of a particular service call to representatives in a call centre. Solutions360 wanted to provide their field technicians with an ability to communicate their progress with dispatch and the call centre using mobile devices. To achieve their goals, Soutions360 chose Intelliware.
Using the i-Proving process, Intelliware built a J2ME application to support basic synchronization of technician’s field work between a Blackberry 8830 and the main Q360 system. The server-side mechanism also needed to support pull Over-The-Air (OTA) deployment to remote field technician’s handhelds. Intelliware successfully delivered the project in 6 weeks to dovetail with Solutions360’s existing release schedule.
